about:porschiey
Hello! My name is Brandon (alias: Porschiey). I am the sole developer for the game called “Parchment,” which is an indie 4X game for PC and mobile, slotted for Holiday 2026.
Parchment is a stylized empire / civilization game that takes place on a persistent world (called a “realm”). Each realm is procedurally generated and “drawn onto a fantasy world map”, seeded by the players that join it. It is a living breathing world with real players and AI alike.
I am a husband, a father, a gamer, and long time developer. I started getting into some minor development work in 1998 when my father helped me build my first website. We wrote the HTML in Adobe Dreamweaver, released the year prior. As a teenager I created and sold e-store websites for clients, and starting making my own PHP games.
I moved to Seattle for college and to step further into the gaming industry, and was recruited by Xbox/Microsoft before I was able to obtain my degree. It was there that I helped the Xbox Community team keep their Guiness World Record for the most response brand on Twitter by developing tools to help them achieve it, along with several other “gamified” community programs.
A team was built around me, and we quickly evolved the toolset for Microsoft to be a innovative community monitoring & response platform. This brought me to the depths of Microsoft’s Azure division, where I learned powerful lessons about scale. From there, I went on to 343 Industries (now called Halo Studios) to help release Halo Reach on Master Chief Collection as well as Halo Infinite. I specifically worked on the forge and UGC content features for those games.
Sometime after the launch of Halo Infinite, I moved to a scrappy startup called Starform, working on a game called Metalstorm as their CTO. Once the game became profitable on its own, I returned to Xbox to work on emerging technologies (aka AI.) I am still there today, working on secret and not-so-secret tech.
There you have it, my resume in blog format. :) Feel free to hit me up on any of the socials if you have questions / comments / emotional outbursts:
